The house is located in the medieval village of Castelnau-de-Guers in the Languedoc Region of Southwestern France. Castelnau de Guers is located between Montpellier (50km east) and Beziers (23km west).
FROM NORTH AMERICA
The south of France is closer and cheaper than you think. There are many interesting low-cost options. With a little shopping around, you can usually find a flight from Toronto, Montreal, New York or Chicago to one of the major nearby hubs – London, Paris, Toulouse or Barcelona. They are all served by scheduled airlines as well as the budget charters like transat and Thomas Cook. From London or Paris you can hop a budget flight (sometimes as cheap as 10 euros) to one of the nearby regional airports, including Beziers, Carcassonne and Montpellier. Or you can take the train. France’s trains are clean, very fast and economical. From Toulouse or Barcelona you can take the train or rent a car. It’s an easy trip from North America, and allows you the option of stopping over for a day or two in a major European capital on your way to relaxation in the sunny south of France.
FROM THE UK AND THE REST OF EUROPE
Ryanair, Easyjet, and the other budget airlines offer many cheap flights into the four regional airports that are all within an hour of our village. Or you can fly into Toulouse, Barcelona, Marseilles or Girona and take the train or rent a car. Likewise, we are very accessible by train from anywhere in Europe, with a station in Beziers, just 15 minutes away. The TGV operates from Lille to Beziers or Agde. Eurostar has a non-stop service from London to Avignon. Beziers also has a car rental at both the train station and airport, as do they all.
